Robin Maderich

In her writing career, Robin Maderich has been both traditionally and self-published. She has written contemporary and historical romance under her own name, and paranormal suspense as Celia Ashley. Her books have been published by Kensington, the former Warner Books and an indie publisher, NCP. The publishing rights to one of her historical romances, Once and Always (written as Alyssa Deane), were sold and translated with profoundly different covers in Russia, Denmark, France and Germany.

She self-publishes the smalltown Connor Falls Christmas Series, which is being re-released in 2022 under the umbrella of Potter Street Books. Also available is the family read-aloud holiday book, H is for Home, written and illustrated at a time when her computer use needed, for medical reasons, to be limited, which seemed like the perfect opportunity for the “gentler on the brain” endeavor of illustrating a picture book.

As she often explains, she began writing romance at the request of an editor through her former agent, and found she was good at it but has always wanted to return to writing for the young adult and middle-grade reader. Perhaps this is why The Shadows We Make, penned as Jo Allen Ash and her debut as a young adult author, is the accomplishment about which she is most excited.

Ms. Maderich lives in a rural area of Lehigh County, Pennsylvania. She shares her home with her cats, her eldest son’s dog and her eldest son (not necessarily in that order). She wrote her first book at seven years old on folded notebook paper, telling the tale of a girl and her horse complete with crayon illustrations. Thoroughly bitten by the bug, she made it her goal to continue learning the craft in every way so that one day she’d be “an author.”
